What a Memorable Week

Image
Good Morning, It was such a memorable week beginning with the 4th Grade concert where it was amazing to see all of the student's hard work and effort on display for everyone to see. It is a Farewell concert, but it serves as a springboard of sorts because even though the students time at NDLC may be coming to an end, their future is one that will continue to inspire and be bright. I am so proud of every single one of them, and thank you to all the families for your support because it doesn't happen by accident when you get such a special group of kids, that starts at home so be extremely proud. Our day at Lambeau couldn't have been any more percent, and some of the memories are captured here in this document, enjoy! Good Afternoon, Writing this weekly update reflecting back on the week, but also looking ahead has made me realize we have officially reached that point in the school year. That point being that it really is now a reality that our days together as a class are running out. This class has been so special, and being able to see them grow as individuals has been such a joy every day. At this point in the year is when a classroom embodies what you envision it to look like at the beginning of the year, and quite frankly this special group of kids have surpassed anything I could have imagined. We will be sure to enjoy all the days and minutes we have left together for this year.  Week in Review: i-Ready - Students completed their end of year i-Ready where we were able to see so much growth for student in reading and math. As always, it is important to remember this is a one day snapshot of their progress, and not the only parameter we use when measuring growth. 4th Grade is filled with so muc

Good Afternoon, The weather outside made for a great week for everyone to enjoy, and brought another energy to each day as we wrap yet another week in this school year. A highlight for the week was the picnic lunch that students earned, and the part I enjoyed the most was seeing how connected all of them were. All of them just enjoying the moment they were in, laughing, and just being genuinely happy to all be together and enjoy their celebration together. It was a special day, and looking forward to trying to create as much of those moments as we can in these final few weeks. Good Afternoon, As we head into our final full month of the school we lots of school events to look forward too which is sure to bring lots of joy and excitement. With that the finality of the school year can bring lots of bittersweet feelings for a lot of people as the end of the 4th Grade year means the end of students journey's at NDLC. A conversation I had with a student today reflected that exact thinking when they shared how they are feeling sad about the end of the year because they know it means the end of their schooling at NDLC, and so making sure to honor everyone's feelings while making the most of everyday because they will be gone before we know it. Week in Review:  Leader in Me: This week, we talked  about how to Sharpen the Saw. Sharpen the Saw includes having balance in our body, mind, heart, and spirit. Discuss these questions with your learner:  What can you do as a family to help others and sharpen your spirit? What new foods can you try to sharpen your bod
