VW 4th Grade Blog 2023-2024

Good Afternoon, Celebrate NDLC week was a fun filled week of learning, dress up days, and ended with a whole school assembly and dance party. I truly believe NDLC is the best place for a 4k-4th Grade student to learn in the state of Wisconsin, and this week allows us as a school to market and show all the good that happens here at NDLC. As we head into a new month already next week, I am proud of all we have accomplished, and looking forward to all that this group of 4th graders are yet to achieve the remainder of the school year. Week in Review: Leader in Me: Leaders finished putting the work they wanted to display into their leadership binders for the first semester of the school year. They will begin adding to new binders for second semester, and will then use these for the student led conferences we will have in March. Good Afternoon, The past two weeks saw snow days, i-ready mid year testing, new units starting, no school days, half days, and why is it so cold outside days. Each day we are together at NDLC in my book though is a GREAT day, and I am excited to begin this second half of the school year together. The halfway point in the year is a great time to reflect, celebrate growth, and identify new goals for all of us to continue to grow, and be the best version of ourselves everyday.  I have enjoyed every day so far, and I hope your child is having as much fun as I am. I look forward to making this last semester at NDLC a special, memorable one for each 4th Grader as we embark on this journey together. Good Afternoon, It was great getting back to into routine, and start the new year off with all the students. Hope everyone's holidays were enjoyable as we head into a brand new year, and for this group of 4th graders their last months at NDLC. Everyday we will continue to try and make it the best day, and along the way make some growth academically and socially so that when that final day comes this group is ready to take on anything that comes their way! Week in Review: Leader in Me: This week as we transitioned back we spent time reviewing our classroom and school expectations. As leaders in our school, we want to be displaying positive behaviors in all areas whether that be at recess, hallways, lunch, etc. Writing: Writers got their writing gears back in motion in a new form of essay writing as they started a compare and contrast essay this week. They took two short stories that they had read, and from there worked on comparing and contrasting either characters or themes in the ...
